TikTok is such an entertaining social media app where anyone who has an account can watch fun videos that are in their interests.

Aside from just flicking through the videos, uploading recorded videos and stories on the very same app is another thing you can do.

But what if you have made too many TikTok videos that you’re having a hard time locating them on your gallery? 

Can you delete some of those videos even after posting them?

More so, can you also delete videos I placed on TikTok’s “Drafts?”

 

How to Delete a Video on TikTok

  1. Press the “Profile” button on the bottom menu of TikTok’s home page.
  2. Tap the posted video you want to delete from the gallery on your TikTok profile page.
  3. Press the meatballs menu on the right-side panel.
  4. Swipe the bottom options menu to the left and press the “Delete” icon.
  5. Tap “Delete” on the pop-out window that appears.
  6. If the video is in the “Drafts” folder, tap its folder on the profile page.
  7. Press “Select” on the upper right of the “Drafts” page.
  8. Tap on the video drafts you want to delete until the circle on the upper right of its thumbnail is highlighted.
  9. Press the “Delete” button.

Whether you want to delete posted videos from the gallery or those from the “Drafts” folder, follow the 9 steps below to successfully delete a video on TikTok.

These 9 steps, however, aren’t applicable to delete a video you uploaded as a story on TikTok.

But, the process for deleting videos on TikTok is the same whether you’re using an iPhone or an Android device.

 

Step 1: Press the “Profile” icon.

You will see this icon on the bottom menu of TikTok’s home page.

 

Step 2: Tap the video you want to delete from the gallery.

This gallery appears once you open your TikTok “Profile” page.

 

Step 3: Tap the meatballs menu.

You’ll find this button on the right-side panel of the video you’re watching.

 

Step 4: Swipe your finger to the left and press the “Delete” icon.

Step 5: Press “Delete” on the pop-out confirmation window.

The video will then be removed from the gallery on your profile page.

If you accidentally tapped the wrong video, just press “Cancel.”

 

Step 6: Tap the “Drafts” folder if the video you want to delete is not yet posted.

Step 7: Inside the “Drafts” page, press “Select.”

You’ll then see the circle on the video thumbnail’s upper right become highlighted.

 

Step 9: Press “Delete” on the screen’s bottom.

Automatically, the video you selected will be removed from your “Drafts” folder on TikTok.

So, in case you find yourself in a pinch and you need to declutter your TikTok gallery, just delete those videos following the steps above.

Just make sure that the videos you delete are the correct ones as there is no way of recovering them after tapping the “Delete” button.

Can I still recover the TikTok video I deleted?

There currently is no way to recover a deleted TikTok video after pressing the “Delete” button. But, if you have activated the “Save to device” option in “More options,” just reupload the accidentally deleted video.

You cannot delete a TikTok video that’s posted by another person on the platform. However, you can report the said video if you find the content posted offensive. Just press the “Share” button and tap the “Report” option to fill out the form and submit it.
