This method is best used by Instagram users, creating their stories from scratch. You’ll also find the Paris filter and the Crying filter through this method.

Once you’re on Instagram’s “Home” page, follow these steps:

 

Step 1: Open the “Story” creator page

One way to open the “Story” creator page is to swipe right of the “Home” page. Another way is to press the “Create Story” icon on the “IG Stories” section of the “Home” page.

You’ll see this magnifying glass icon as the rightmost option of the effects carousel.

To do this, you can tap on the category tabs on the header bar. These are the categories of all the filters on Instagram. 

You can also choose “Saved” to find the IG filters or effects you have saved from previous stories. Otherwise, tap the “Search” tab to find a specific IG filter using certain keywords.

After choosing a filter you’ll use, it will appear inside the “Capture” circle on the “Create Story” page. Just tap on the page’s middle to exit the “Effects” gallery.

 

Method 2: Finding Instagram Filters by Borrowing the Filter from Your IG Friends

As most Instagram users are adding filters to their stories, you’ll likely have a friend applying one to their current story. 

 

Step 1: Tap on your friend’s Instagram story

You’ll see this in the “Instagram Stories” section of the “Home” page.

The name of the Instagram filter used appears below your friend’s Instagram handle or name. 

Sometimes it will shift to the title of the music he added to the story, so you have to be quick in tapping the IG filter name.

 

Step 3: Press the IG filter name in the “Created with” menu

This menu only appears if your friend has added another effect to his IG story. In case only the IG filter is added, skip this step.

You’ll then be redirected to the “Create Story” page with the filter you tapped earlier already applied.

 

Step 5: Press “Save effect”

This is another optional step in this method, as you can opt not to do this step. Save the said effect or filter if you’ll use it on future stories or even reels on Instagram.

 

Method 3: Finding Instagram Filters by Searching for the IG Filter Creator

Another way of finding IG filters is to search for the creator of the filter itself. This method is useful if you like a particular creator’s filters or effects.

If you know the IG handle of the creator, you can tap “Search” and go to his IG profile page. When creating a story, you can also find the creator’s name while browsing in the “Browse Effects” gallery.

Regardless of how you find the creator of the Instagram filters like the Disney filter, do these steps to find and use it.

These filters appear as video thumbnails. Tapping on a thumbnail opens you to the filter itself.

 

Step 3: Press “Try it”
