Frequently Asked Questions about How to Let Others Edit a Canva Design

Why can’t I edit a design shared with me by our administrator?

There are 3 possible scenarios why you can’t edit a shared design. First, the access given is set in View instead of Edit. Second, you logged into the wrong team. Third, the design features custom fonts that non-team members cannot view.

How do I switch between multiple teams?

Head to the home page first. Then, tap on the profile icon. Tap on another team name to switch between teams. Canva will then automatically refresh to the current team’s homepage.

How can I change a Can View access to a Can Edit one?

If you selected the wrong access for your team member, re-share the design file. Then, make sure to choose the Can edit access option before you hit the Send button.

Can I share my Canva designs with a person not using the graphic tool?

It’s still possible to share a Canva design with a non-Canva user. But, you’ll need to download the file first either as a PNG or PDF file. You cannot share the said design through the design link.

Can I change the share permissions of my team members during the middle of the design phase?

You can alter, or even remove, the share permissions given to a team or a particular member. Select Share in the editor toolbar. Then, next to that particular team or person, tap the v icon. You can then update the access by selecting between Not shared, Can view, and Can edit.
